Description

How does a family cope with making a life-changing decision? We have all had to make them at least once in our lives. Does the family become closer, or drift apart? This fictional story lets you peek inside the lives of one family of four that makes the decision not many families have ever had or will have to make. They have agreed to leave the comfort of their home, families, and the very earth and journey to another planet many light years away. The family makes the journey together. However, this story is mainly about two pre-teens adventures in space. Ruby and Nolan climb the hill by their home to check on the Solar Panels and find two of them mangled and broken beyond repair. Checking to see what happened to them, they discover an unusual rock. They decide it would be a great science project, so with a little difficulty, they take it down the hill and hide in the wood box in their hideout. For the next few weeks, they conduct a scientific study. When it starts growing, they realize it isn't a rock, its egg. Nolan is hoping for a pony, even though he knows ponies do not hatch from eggs. Ruby thinks it might be a chicken and is a little concerned with its size. What could go wrong, after all, it will be a baby?

About the Author

I am an author even though I don't have a best-selling novel, yet. I love creating worlds and characters and the power to make them happy, sad, angry, and some with no redeeming qualities is fun. Throughout the years, I created Halloween costumes, wrote letters of complaint, one important letter to our local school bus driver to petition her to allow our son back on the bus. In between reading thousands of books, have written yearly newsletters that frequently were drafted third-person by my Love Birds, Miranda our motor home, and by Sir Fit our White Knight Honda. Many of the characters and snippets of stories are derived from years of traveling around the country in Miranda, our faithful Motor Home. Intimidation often creeps into my mind, trying to convince me to forget this fantasy. Many authors show on their bios an impressive college degree and many years of working in the career of the genre of their writing. My claim to fame is 30 years, in the trenches as a Real Estate Professional. I loved it and earned the respect of my colleagues and my clients, possibly because of my motto "Do the right thing, because it is right". My fifty-four years of marriage to the love of my life produced two exceptionally talented children, and one granddaughter that are my pride and joy.
